In the Roman and Late Classical World if you wanted to really curse someone you did it with a tabella defixionis.  Written on lead, these curses would often be buried or cast into a well where chthonic forces would wreak vengeance on those cursed.  However, here we have a similar kind of text produced by the Gnostic Mandaeans but probably for protection.  Such texts would be lightly inscribed in Mandaean Aramaic, rolled up and placed within tubes for wearing.  The fragment is small, 3cm x 3cm with a few words visible.
